The Ultimate Self-Care Guide for 2022

It’s no secret that the last two years have taken a toll on all of us, especially our mental health. The heightened stress and anxiety brought on amidst the pandemic has been troubling for many. If there’s one thing that this has taught us, it’s that taking care of yourself is so important. Finding the time to truly focus on your mental health is more crucial than ever. As we enter year 3 of this ongoing pandemic, self-care should continue to be prioritized in 2022. For some, that might sound easier said than done. However, self-care doesn’t have to look like a full day spent at the spa or a romantic getaway. We’ve put together a list of self-care tips that you can easily add to your routine!

At-Home Spa Night

Grab a cozy bathrobe, your candles, lotions, a bottle of wine, and get ready to create your own spa right at home! A spa night doesn’t have to break the bank or be anything fancy to be beneficial for relieving stress.  Start by lighting some herbal scented candles and drawing yourself a nice warm bath. You can even add in some Aveda stress-fox bath salts to really feel like you’re at the spa. Grab a book and glass of wine while you kick back and relax,  or you could this time to call a relative or friend that you haven’t spoken with in a while to catch up! Once you’re feeling nice and relaxed, try doing a face mask, giving yourself a mani-pedi, or any other spa-like services you like!

Schedule Breaks

One of the most important things you can do to alleviate daily stress is schedule in small breaks throughout the day. You shouldn’t wait weeks or months until your stress is unmanageable and you start to burn out. Instead, you should be proactive and practice small daily acts of scheduled self-care. Whether that means scheduling 15 minutes a day to be “unplugged” and read a few pages of your favorite book, or watching your favorite show. Whatever it may be, try to make it a daily habit!

Get in Some Exercise

Daily movement has so many benefits, both for your physical and mental health. Exercise has been proven to help reduce anxiety and depression while improving self-esteem and cognitive function, relieving stress, helping you sleep better; The list of benefits goes on… If exercise wasn’t part of your routine in 2021, 2022 is your year to make it a priority! Whether it be daily walks, quick yoga breaks, or getting into running, weight lifting, or pilates classes. Just find something you enjoy and will stay consistent with!
